When staying right in Pipera is the better choice
Start with what we do not have. No Arkadia apartment is in Pipera. Our closest short-stay apartment, in Herăstrău, is in Bucharest’s Sector 1, at Intrarea Undiței 1, 2.1 km in a straight line from Pipera metro station. For most offices in the area that means a short trip; for some, it does not.
A hotel or an apartment right in Pipera is the better choice when:
- you work at the northern end of Bulevardul Pipera, in Voluntari: from us that is ~14 minutes by car in light traffic, up to ~20 on the way back in the evening, and about 45 minutes by public transport, with one change;
- you are staying one night and only need a bed close to the office;
- breakfast included and a reception open around the clock matter more to you than space.
If your office is on Barbu Văcărescu, on Bulevardul Dimitrie Pompeiu or at the southern end of Bulevardul Pipera, read on.
Pipera is not one place: Barbu Văcărescu, Dimitrie Pompeiu and Pipera-Voluntari
In accommodation listings, “Pipera” usually covers the whole office district in the north of Bucharest, and the trip to each part of it is not the same:
- Barbu Văcărescu, with the office towers by Aurel Vlaicu metro station;
- Bulevardul Dimitrie Pompeiu, in Sector 2, next to Pipera metro station, the northern end of the M2 line;
- Pipera-Voluntari, along Bulevardul Pipera, in the town of Voluntari: from its southern end to Pipera Shopping Center, at number 134, it is more than 3.5 km in a straight line.
Before you book anywhere, check the office’s exact address on the map.
Accommodation near Pipera: how long it takes from Herăstrău, measured
We measured every trip with Google Maps from the building at Intrarea Undiței 1: on foot, by public transport arriving at 9:00, and by car. For rush hour we measured a working day at 08:30, 17:30 and 18:00, and in the evening the trip back, from the office to the apartment.
- Barbu Văcărescu, by Aurel Vlaicu metro: 1.0 km in a straight line to Globalworth Tower, 1.2 km on foot, about 17 minutes. You do not need a car for this one.
- Bulevardul Dimitrie Pompeiu and Pipera metro: 2.1 km in a straight line. By metro, 1 km on foot to Aurel Vlaicu and then one stop on the M2, about 18 minutes door to door. By car, 2.7 km: ~8 minutes in light traffic, ~10 in the morning and up to ~20 on the way back in the evening. On foot it is 2.5 km, about 35 minutes.
- The southern end of Bulevardul Pipera, in Voluntari (Hyperion Towers, Bd. Pipera 1/VI): 2.6 km in a straight line. By bus 112, 5 stops, about 21 minutes door to door. By car, 4.6 km: ~10 minutes, both in the morning and on the way back in the evening.
- The northern end of Bulevardul Pipera (Pipera Shopping Center, Bd. Pipera 134): 6.1 km in a straight line. By car, 7.0 km: ~14 minutes in light traffic, ~15 in the morning and up to ~20 on the way back in the evening. By public transport, buses 112 and 459, about 45 minutes.
The rush-hour times are Google’s estimates for an ordinary week; rain or an accident makes them longer. Use them to compare, and on your first morning leave ten minutes early.
Why a short-stay apartment, for a business trip of a few days
Two or three colleagues, each with a bedroom
The Herăstrău apartment is about 85 m², with two bedrooms, one with a queen-size bed and one with a double bed, plus a sofa bed in the living room, for up to 6 guests. Two colleagues each get a room with its own door, and share the living room, the kitchen and the bathroom, a single one, with a bathtub.
Your evenings are your own
The kitchen is fully equipped, with a gas hob, an oven, a dishwasher and an espresso machine, and the washing machine takes care of a clean shirt for day four. The apartment has air conditioning, Wi-Fi and a balcony. Herăstrău Park starts 280 m away, roughly a 4-minute walk, through the entrance on Șoseaua Nordului: a walk by the lake after a day of meetings.
By car
Parking is free, on the public street; the apartment has no private parking space. Every route we measured to the offices runs along Șoseaua Pipera.
Without a car: the M2 metro and bus 112
Aurel Vlaicu metro station, on the M2, is 1 km from the apartment, about a 14-minute walk. From there, Pipera is the next stop, the end of the line; in the other direction, the same line takes you to Piața Victoriei and on towards the centre. For the southern end of Bulevardul Pipera, bus 112 leaves from the Șoseaua Pipera stop and runs 5 stops to Pasajul Pipera.
What you get for a business stay
- Self check-in. You receive the access instructions before you arrive and let yourself in at any time after 15:00, without meeting anyone, even if your flight lands in the evening. Check-out is by 10:00; early check-in and late check-out can be requested, for an additional charge, subject to availability.
- A company invoice. The operator is ARKADIA INOVATION SRL, CUI 47935937, and we issue invoices for every stay, including business stays. If you want it in your company’s name, send us the billing details when you write to us.
- Three stars, the top grade for apartments. The apartment is classified at 3 stars by the Romanian Ministry of Tourism, and three stars is the highest grade for short-stay apartments: under Order 65/2013, apartments for rent are classified from 1 to 3 stars. The certificate number is shown on the apartment’s page.
If Herăstrău is booked
The other four Arkadia apartments are in Băneasa and Crângași, 5–8 km in a straight line from Pipera metro station. For a daily trip to Pipera we do not recommend them: for those dates, staying right in Pipera will suit you better.

So: in Pipera or near Pipera?
If your office is at the northern end of Voluntari, or you are staying one night, sleep in Pipera; we say so plainly. If you work on Barbu Văcărescu, on Dimitrie Pompeiu or at the southern end of Bulevardul Pipera and you are coming for a few days, perhaps with a colleague, Herăstrău is a 17-minute walk, one metro stop or ~10 minutes by car away, and in the evening you have a whole apartment: two bedrooms, a kitchen and the park 280 m away.
